Unsung heroes need recognition

The Tribune is getting closer and closer to publishing its 2016 Profile edition, which will land on your doorsteps at the end of February.

But we still need the community’s help to make it a success.

The deadline is quickly approaching to submit entries for The Tribune’s Unsung Heroes.

If you’re not sure whether you know anyone who could be considered an unsung hero, think about the people who you see making a difference in the community.

It could be the person who rakes leaves or does yard work for a senior asking nothing in return. It could be the person who picks up litter along the streets in your neighborhood. It could be someone in uniform who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

No act of kindness is too small for someone to be considered an unsung hero.

We want those special people to be recognized, so please submit a short description of that person and tell us why her or she is an unsung hero.

All nominations must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 8 by filling out the form printed in the newspaper and posted on Facebook. Submissions may be sent by email to michelle.goodman@irontontribune.com, dropped off at our office during normal business hours at 2903 S. Fifth St., or mailed in to P.O. Box 647 Ironton, OH 45638.

If it is mailed, please be sure to put it to the attention of “Unsung Heroes.”

If you look around Lawrence County, it’s not difficult to find good people doing their part to make the community a better place.
