Female Flyers, Turner rip Defenders, 68-31

GALLIPOLIS — The St. Joseph Female Flyers are back in a good place.

The Female Flyers snapped a three-game losing streak as they rolled past the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders 68-31 on Saturday.

Morgan Turner put together a strong game with 21 points, four assists and seven steals for St. Joseph (4-6).

Lynsey Booker had 17 points, six rebounds and three assists. Grace Miller added 11 points

“It was a good game for us to get back on the winning side. Everyone played quite a bit and that gives us some experience we need,” said coach Miller.

“Morgan was on her game. She made an impact. Lynsey did a good job taking the ball to the basket.”

Turner scored 13 points in the first quarter including three 3-pointers as the Female Flyers took a 21-7 lead. Katie Bradley had a pair of 3-pointers for OVC.

Six different players scored in the second quarter as the lead grew to 39-19 at the half.

Booker scored 10 points in the third quarter as the lead ballooned to 55-23.

Miller got 5 of her points in the fourth quarter as St. Joseph outscored OVC 13-8.

St. Joseph host Sciotoville East at 6 p.m. on Monday.
