Harold Miller

July 26, 1938—Jan. 2, 2016

Harold Dean Miller, 77, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. Harold was born July 26, 1938, in Ironton, a son of the late Donald and Ola Mae (Hutchinson) Miller.

Harold attended South Point Schools and was a construction foreman for CJ Hughes Construction Company; He most recently worked as a security guard for Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital in Huntington. Harold served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard and attended Washington Baptist Church in Huntington. He loved his grandchildren, papaw’s “best friends”, Chloe, Courtlyn, Camryn, and Sydney.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Miller and Bo Miller; and a sister; Carol Miller.

Harold is survived by two sons, James Miller of Ironton and Jonathan (Adriane) Miller, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Terri (Doug) Lewis, of Coal Grove; and a stepdaughter, Myrtle Curry, of Port Orange, Florida. He is also survived by three brothers, Buddy Miller of South Point; Robert (Beverly) Miller, of South Point and David (Diane) Miller, of Coal Grove; and two sisters, Mary Lilly, of West Jefferson and Retta (Elliott) Semones-Slotnick, of Columbus. Harold will be missed by four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with his son, James Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Norma Dodson

Norma Jean Dodson, 73, of Pedro, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at her residence. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodland Cemetery with Kevin West. Grace Blake

Grace Ellen Blake, 82, of Ashland, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Robert Wood

Robert Leon Wood, 88, of Chesapeake, died on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Melva L. Wood. Graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Rome Cemetery by pastor Duane Smith. Proctorville VFW Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. There will be no visitation. Dwayne Johnson
