SOUTH POINT — The Seven Musketeers?

It was all for one and one for all for the Rock Hill Redwomen who used a team effort to slip past the South Point Lady Pointers 53-51 on Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

All seven players contributed in some fashion as Rock Hill improved to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the OVC.

“In the second half, it was the best team effort I’ve seen in my four years. Everyone got involved and we were able to handle the press really well,” said Rock Hill coach Greg Damron.

“It’s a good win, especially being on the road. It was an exciting game to watch. Both teams played well.”

Anna Darby had 16 points — 12 in the second half — to lead the Redwomen (8-4, 4-3). She also had 3 steals and 13 rebounds for another double-double.

Jill Hairston also had 16 points including four 3-pointers. Kaci Russell scored 13 points and had 3 steals while Sami Dillon grabbed 7 rebounds.

“Sami Dillon does all the little things. Her points and rebounds don’t tell the whole story. And Abbi Kline gave us great minutes off the bench,” said Darmon. “Rawlins had a great game and Mundy did a nice job for them.”

Haley Rawlins had a big game for South Point with a game-high 23 points. Kate Mundy added 17 points for the Lady Pointers (6-6, 3-4).

South Point led 8-6 after the first quarter but Hairston drained a pair of trifecta in the second quarter as Rock Hill rallied to take a 19-17 lead.

Rawlins scored 10 points and Mundy 7 as South Point outscored the Redwomen 19-14 in the third quarter to lead 36-33. Darby had 7 points for the Redwomen.

Hairston scored 7 points including a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter while Russell added 4 points.

Rawlins scored 7 more points in the fourth quarter but Hairston counters with 7 points including a 3-pointer and Russell added 4 points as Rock Hill rallied for the win.

Rock Hill visits Green on Saturday and hosts Fairland on Monday. South Point hosts Coal Grove on Monday.
