Kay Scherer

Sept. 27, 1939—Jan. 8, 2016

Kay Creger Scherer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt,  passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Jan. 8, 2016 in Florence, Arizona.

She was born to the late Roy Allen Creger and Helen Wilson Creger on Sept. 27, 1939, in Deering.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Creger Evans and Debbie Creger Gillispie.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Chinn Bennett (John) and son, Joe Scherer (Stacy); six grandsons, John Bennett, Jr., Brad Maiden, Cory Bennett, Tanner Conley, Drew Scherer and Gage Scherer; seven siblings, Mary Ann Creger Smith, Louise Creger Mulburg, Roy Creger (Elpha), Richard Creger, Gary Creger (Bonita), Brenda Barber Rutledge and Mike Barber; and many nieces and nephews.

Known for her sassiness, quick come backs and humor, as well as her always caring and giving attitude, Kay was loved and will be missed by many.

There will be a memorial at Community Missionary Baptist Church in Deering at 7 p.m. Tuesday with pastor Philip Ruark residing and in Florence, Arizona, at a later date.

 

 

Shirley Wilson

Shirley J. Wilson, 75, of Barboursville, West Virginia, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Chateau Grove Senior Living, Barboursville.  A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. There will be no visitation.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Donald Whisman

Donald E. Whisman, 87, of Huntington, died Saturday Jan. 9, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington..

Joanne Moore

Joanne Josie Moore, 64, of Willow Wood, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at home.  A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Medical Center Chapel, Huntington, by Chaplain Dan Spracker.  Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

John White

May 13, 1942—Jan. 7, 2016

John E. White, 73, of Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at the Arbors at Gallipolis.

John was born on May 13, 1942, in Ironton, son of the late Lura White and Margaret Lewis White Kimball.  He is survived by two daughters, Angela Caldwell (Lee Cordell) of Gallipolis and Kelli (Roy) Vance of Newton, North Carolina; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one brother Larry White of Ironton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a son, Duane White, granddaughter Brandi Mannon, his parents, and former wife, Wilma Lyall.

According to his wishes no services are being held.

 

 

Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon, 78, of South Point, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington.  He is survived by his wife Janet Sheldon. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by the Rev. Jamie Mosley.  Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.  Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

 

Linda Miller

Linda Kay Miller, 64, of Huntington, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. A memorial service will be at a later date.
