Hayes to be vice president

For the second consecutive year Les Boggs will lead the Lawrence County Commission in 2016.

That decision was made at the commission’s organizational meeting Monday morning that preceded the regular meeting, normally scheduled for Thursday. This week it was on Monday.

Commissioner Bill Pratt nominated commissioner Freddie Hayes Jr. for president. But Hayes declined. He then nominated Boggs, who won in a 2 to 1 vote with Pratt voting “No.”
