OUS schedules events for MLK holiday

Several events are scheduled at Ohio University Southern to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
An interfaith dialogue is set at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bowman Auditorium, featuring speakers and seeking to bring together those of different faiths and denominations.
A community celebration will take place on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium, featuring keynote speaker Joan C. Browning a leader of civil rights actions in Georgia in the 1960s, The event will also have performances from local artists. Attendees are asked to bring one donation item for the university’s MLK School Supply Drive.
An MLK luncheon for faculty and staff will be at noon on Friday, Jan 29 featuring speakers from the school’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion.
From Jan. 19 to 29, students, staff and visitors are asked to contribute to the MLK Dream Wall of Inspiration in front of the Bowman Auditorium, where they can write or draw to express how King’s message has impacted their lives.
The university will be closed on Monday, the federal observance for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
