PORTSMOUTH — The South Point trio isn’t a singing group, but they did a number on the Portsmouth Lady Trojans.

The Lady Pointers’ trio of Brooklyn Badgett, Kate Mundy and Leah Lawson combined for 57 points in a 64-33 rout of the Lady Trojans on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Badgett scored a game-high 22 points to lead South Point (9-8, 5-5). Mundy scored 19 points and Lawson added 16.

Jasmine Eley had 16 points to lead Portsmouth (2-13, 1-9).

The game was close in the first quarter as South Point took an 11-9 lead. Badgett and Lawson scored five points each in the quarter while Sharia Kearns, Wesleigh Jackson and Eley all hit 3-pointers for Portsmouth.

Mundy scored eight points in the second quarter including a 3-pointer as South Point went up 28-20 at the half.

Mundy and Badgett scored six points each in the third quarter as the Lady Pointers pulled away to a 43-29 lead.

Badgett, Lawson and Mundy combined for 17 points and South Point was 8-of-9 at the foul line in the fourth quarter.

South Point hosts Russell, Ky., on Wednesday.
