New Boston uses FTs to top Female Flyers

New Boston used some strong free throw shooting as the Lady Tigers beat the St. Joseph Female Flyers 55-41 on Wednesday.
New Boston was 17-of-22 from the foul line while St. Joseph was only 6-of-11.
Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller said his team was its own worst enemy.
“We were out of position and fouled too much,” said Miller. “Their free throw shooting hurt us.”
St. Joseph (7-10) was led by Lynsey Bodmer with 21 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Morgan Turner added 12 points while Ashley Bartram had four rebounds and Lauren Bush two steals.
New Boston had three players in doubled figures as Tammy Oiler scored 21, Ali Hamilton 15 and Kaylee Stone 10.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 10-1 lead but Turner scored seven points as St. Joseph pulled to within 12-10. Oiler hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and it was 15-10.
Hamilton and Oiler combined for all nine New Boston points in the second quarter while Booker had all six points for St. Joseph and it was 24-16 at the break.
Oiler scored seven and Hamilton six in the third quarter at New Boston outscored St. Joseph 19-9 to lead 43-25. Booker had five points for the Female Flyers.
St. Joseph rallied to outscore New Boston 16-12 in the fourth quarter as Booker scored nine points and Turner five.
St. Joseph visits Sciotoville East on Monday.
