Fairland girls roll to victory

SOUTH POINT — That cold shooting thawed quickly for the Fairland Lady Dragons.
A poor shooting performance on Monday led to an upset loss at Gallipolis, but that wasn’t the case on Wednesday as the Lady Dragons rolled to a 55-29 Ohio Valley Conference win over the South Point Lady Pointers.
Emily Chapman scored 14 points, Taylor Perry 13 and Taylar Wilson 10 as Fairland improved to 15-3 overall and 10-3 in the OVC.
Brooklyn Badgett scored 15 points for the Lady Pointers (9-10, 6-7).
Fairland led 12-7 after the first quarter and then caught fire and outscored the Lady Pointers 18-4 in the second quarter to lead 30-11 at the half and coasted the rest of the way.
On Thursday, Fairland visits Chesapeake an South Point goes to Rock Hill in league games.
