The Rock Hill Redwomen must have been fans of the late Davie Bowie.

The Redwomen kept the St. Joseph Female Flyers “Under Pressure” en route to a 60-54 win on Saturday.

Rock Hill pressured the Female Flyers into 39 turnovers.

“It’s the first time this year we didn’t handle the ball,” said Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller. “Rock Hill did a good job of taking advantage of scoring off our turnovers.

“But we did shoot the ball well and we scored more than 50 points for the second straight game. That kept us in the game. Alyson Johnson did a good job knocking down some shots.”

Kaci Russell led Rock Hill with a game-high 23 points while Anna Darby scored 19.

Lynsey Booker had 20 points and seven rebounds for St. Joseph (8-13). Morgan Turner added 10 points, eight assists and three steals and Johnson had 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The game was tied 10-10 after the first quarter. Russell scored eight points and Taylor Hall got all five of her points for Rock Hill while Booker had six points and Natalie Heaberlin hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to get the Female Flyers within 27-24 at the break.

Booker had seven points in the third quarter but Jill Hairston scored five points and Russell and Darby four each as Rock Hill went up 42-33.

Turner scored all 10 of her points including three 3-poitners while Johnson and Megan Riley added 4 each in St. Joseph’s comeback bid, but Russell and Darby got eight points each to secure the win.

St. Joseph (8-13) was 22-of-40 from the field for 55 percent including 5-of-9 from the 3-point line.

On Monday, Rock Hill visits Ironton and St. Joseph hosts Grace Christian at 7:30 p.m. in a varsity-only game.
