CLEVELAND (AP) — Free agent inside linebacker Demario Davis is visiting the Browns, who may have to replace Craig Robertson.
The 27-year-old Davis played the past four seasons for the New York Jets. The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder started every game the past three seasons for New York, which drafted him in the third round in 2012 out of Arkansas State.
Davis had 90 tackles and two sacks last season. He recorded more than 100 tackles in 2013 and 2014.
The Browns may need to bolster their depth at linebacker if Robertson, who has made free agent visits to several teams, signs elsewhere.
Cleveland’s new front office has taken a casual and cautious approach so far in free agency. Last week, four starters, including three-time Pro Bowl center Alex Mack, signed with other teams.
