Robert Lewis

Feb. 5, 1943 — March 29, 2016

Robert E. Lewis, 73, of South Point, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his residence. Robert was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Ironton, a son of the late John Robert and Juanita Wilson Lewis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Lewis and Mike Lewis. He retired from AK Steel. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hunt Lewis; three children, John Robert Lewis, Shane Lewis and Stacy Mathes; two sisters, Sheri Wilds and Judy Barnhart; a brother, Scott Lewis; and six grandchildren, Matt and Courtney Lewis, Tanner and Tyler Mathes and Daniel and Marisa Lewis.

Nellie Rice

Jan. 7, 1951 — March 25, 2016

Nellie Rice, age 65, of Ironton, died Thursday, March 25, 2016, at SOMC in Portsmouth. She was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 7,1951, the daughter of the late Thomas and Imogene Johnson Sites. She was also preceded by two brothers, Frankie Gregory and Thomas Ray Sites. Survivors include one son, Kenny Rice; one sister, Wanda McSorley, of Toledo; and one aunt, Ruby Akers, of Oakwood. There will be no public services. O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of services.

 

Thurman Keiser

Thurman “Jay” Keiser, 68, formerly of Ironton, son of the late Thurman Keiser and the late Pauline Litle Whaley, passed away, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jay was an Ironton High School Class of 1965 graduate. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sherry. A celebration of life was held at the American Legion in Colorado Springs on Saturday, March 19.

 

Carolyn Wilson

Carolyn Jean Pearl Clonch Wilson, 50, of Oil City, Pennsylvania, formerly of Proctorville, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in Pennsylvania. A graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Ervin Napier officiating at McCormick Cemetery, Proctorville. Perry F. Hutchison, 64, of Englewood, Florida, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Englewood Community Hospital, Englewood, Florida. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Charles Christian, 64, of Ironton, died Saturday, March 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Christian. Graveside services will be Friday at Bradshaw Cemetery in Arabia, with the Rev. Stairl David “Dave” Prince Jr., 63, of Louisa, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
