Eddy Test winners announced

The Ironton Child Welfare Club has announced the 2016 Eddy Test winners.

The Club’s Eddy Test was given to the top 25 percent of the sixth grade students from Ironton Middle School and St. Lawrence Catholic School based on state or national testing on March 17. This all day test covers reading vocabulary, reading comprehension, math problem solving, math computation, language, spelling, science and social studies. The top one third of the participants along with their parents will be honored as Eddy Winners at a banquet hosted by the Child Welfare Club on May 12.

The Child Welfare Club established this program 54 years ago. It is the Club’s longest continuous project. The Eddy Award was established to identify students who attain superior academic achievement in the sixth grade. The 2016 Eddy Winners are: Kenny Barron, son of Pat and Terri Barron; Mercedes Craft, daughter of Tabitha Clark; Garrett Dillon, son of Gary and Debbie Dillon; Riley Hester, daughter of Shannon and Gretchen Hester; Austin Linn, son of Robert Linn and Stephanie Gallagher; Bryce Maynard, son of John and Tara Maynard; Shaelyn Myers, daughter of Nathan Myers and Candice Myers; Arianna Michele Schaus, daughter of Doug and Cyndee Davis; Abbey Taylor, daughter of Derik Taylor and Cathy Taylor; Luke Christian Turvey, son of Brent and Caryn Turvey; Connor Waller, son of Doug and Tonya Waller; Noah Woods, son of Scott and Amy Woods.
