Donald Davis

Sept. 21, 1942­—July 10, 2016

Donald L. Davis went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2016. The West Virginia native was born Sept. 21, 1942, the son of Sarah Elizabeth Workman Davis and the late Harold Ray Davis. He is also survived by his wife, Connie Kerns Davis, of Ironton.

Don was a 1960 graduate of Ceredo Kenova High School and a retired agent for Monumental Life Insurance Company. He was also a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church, where he will be deeply missed.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two sons, Kendall Davis, of San Diego, California and Ron (Bonnie) Davis, of Ironton; one daughter, Valerie Davis-Smith, of Conway, South Carolina; two sisters, Linda (Bob) LaMaster, of Cleveland and Teresa (Dennis) Russell, of Paintsville, Kentucky; and one brother, David Davis, of South Carolina. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by:

one sister, Wanda Lee Davis; and two brothers: Dennis M. Davis and Steven Allen Davis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home. Don will be laid to rest following the service in Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 today at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net

 

Virgie Johnson

Virgie Annette Johnson, 57, of Kitts Hill, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at home. She is survived by her husband, Roger Johnson. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Langdon Cemetery, Chesapeake. Hazel Young, 72, of Columbus, died Sunday, July 10, 2016. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Jarvie Howard, 80, of South Point, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Ronda Fennell Howard. Arrangements are pending at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point.
