Mary Pugh
Mary Charlene Pugh, 80, of Hanging Rock, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. Mrs. Pugh was born March 23, 1936 in Pedro, a daughter to the late John and Margaret (Heading) Stamper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Pugh, Jr, who passed away Sept. 21, 1993.
Mrs. Pugh was a 1954 graduate of Blackfork High School. She was a retired mail carrier and clerk for the Ironton Post Office and the Melbourne, Florida, Post Office for many years. She was baptized at Etna Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Isom Stamper, Charles Stamper, Homer Stamper, Johnny Stamper, Ken Stamper and Richard Stamper; and two sisters, Mandy Pierce and Doris Stamper.
She is survived by two sons, James (Robin) Pugh of Jacksonville, Florida, Freddie (Beth) Pugh of Pedro; two daughters, Cherie Pugh of Hanging Rock and Donna (Keith) Linhart of Palm Bay, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Shawn Pugh, Steve Wilson, Nicole Kicklighter, Jason Neal, Jennifer Barker, Zach Martin, Andrea Stapleton, Michaela Pugh, Nathan Cox, Greg Linhart and Shayne Linhart; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carroll Stamper and Jim Stamper; and three sisters, Virginia Kearns, Joann Richardson and Evelyn Bruce.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Delawader officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Stephanie Hill
Stephanie “Steph” Ann Hill, 32, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Stephanie was born Dec. 17, 1983, in Live Oak, Texas, a daughter of Freddie and Marie (Taitague) Hill of Columbus.
Stephanie was a 2002 graduate of Ironton High School. She attended Ohio University Southern Campus and graduated from the Bellefonte Academy of Beauty. She was a teacher’s aide for the Ironton Elementary School, a hairstylist and homemaker. She attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Ironton. Steph was a very friendly, happy and generous person, but most of all she was a very loving mother to her children, who are the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Tomas Quinata Taitague; paternal grandparents, Ray Hill and Hazel Irene Hill; uncle, Eddie Dean Hill; and aunt, Doris Ann Valley.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Kimora Lei Howard of South Point and Kamia A’ani Howard of Ironton; son, James Ryan Frazer of Ironton; fiancé’, Christopher James Frazer of Ironton; brother, Thomas (Jennetta) Hill of Ft. Stewart, Georgia; three sisters, Cheryl (Kevin Kraft) Hill of Columbus, Melissa (Branden) Thomas of Ironton and Renee Halko of Columbus; seven nephews, seven nieces; one great nephew; maternal grandmother, Ascusion Barnes of Fayetteville, North Carolina; eight aunts, Sheila Miller, Tina Roach, Kimberly Hill, Lisa Hill, Rosalind Howard, Eleanor Lipscomb, Sylvia James and Deborah Tenerio; and six uncles, Bruce Hill, Tomas Taitague, Vincent Taitague, Chris Quinatilla, Roland Quinatilla, Frankie Quinatilla and John Paul Quinatilla
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Carter and the Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Joe Stanley
The Rev. Joe G. Stanley, 79, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Margie S. Saylor Stanley. Arrangements are by Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky. A graveside service was Saturday at Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland.
