Project shows community pride

Something as simple as putting up a flagpole and some benches may seem inconsequential in some larger cities, but in South Point and communities throughout Lawrence County, these projects mean much more.
A new plaza area outside of the village hall in South Point features a new flagpole and seating area that was made possible through donations from residents and businesses.
It is not about the material elements, but rather the community support and pride that went into making this project, and others like it possible. We are fortunate in Lawrence County to have so many who are willing to donate their time and resources, and will get involved in any project that benefits our communities.
We have seen several projects like this all over Lawrence County, and it is a joy to see our communities that include residents, businesses and civic organizations to work tirelessly and selflessly to ensure we have cities, villages, townships and a county that we can all be proud of.
We encourage all residents to get involved in your community, regardless of the avenue in which the participation happens. In the end, if we can all continue to work together, we have an opportunity to continue to create a future that is bright.
