River Valley Craft Beer Fest Sept. 24

PORTSMOUTH — The third annual River Valley Craft Beer Festival is set for Saturday. Sept. 24.
The event will be from noon-5 p.m., rain or shine, on the lot at The Party Connection in Portsmouth. Tickets are $40 for VIP and $25 for general admission. Proceeds from the event will go to Portsmouth River Days.
VIP tickets include admission, a logo’d pint glass, tasting mug, private early bird tasting, designated tent/seating area with complimentary water and snacks and 10 sampling tickets to use after 1 p.m.
General admission tickets include admission, 10 sampling tickets and a tasting mug. Additional sample tickets will be available for $2 each.
There will also be live music by Boosh Hawg, Holly and the Guy and the Shane Runion band.
In addition to craft beer samplings from more than 20 breweries, this year’s event will feature the inaugural Chug and Run. The run will raise money for Team Some Assembly Required, a local, veteran run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The tag-team race consists of teams of four. Each runner will take turns chugging a beer, running 0.3 miles, then chugging another beer before tagging the next runner.
Registration for the run is $160 per team and includes a Chug and Run shirt, 10 sampling tickets, a sampling mug and a finisher’s medal. A maximum of 25 teams will be allowed for the race.
