Bullying must be stopped

When a child leaves for school in the morning, only one thought should enter their mind. And that is to have fun learning.
Under no circumstances should any young person have to face what has become an all too common occurrence, and that is bullying.
While bullying is not anything new to our society, it has taken a rampant upswing in the past several years. In the past, this harassment was done in person and clear action could be taken against the offenders. There are cases where bullying in person still exists, but with the technology we have today, those being bullied may not know who those tormenting them really are.
It is done behind a computer screen or cell phone, and while those items can certainly be traced back, this type of bullying has drastically changed.
For those who are the victims of bullying, the questions of how to handle it are man. For instance, ‘should I tell someone, let it go or fight back on my own?’
We are tragically seeing far too many instances today where people of all ages are taking their own lives or harming others, and it has to stop.
Measures have been taken by legislators and school districts to help, but we have to continue to push both at home and in society to move toward alleviating this epidemic. It was not created overnight, and it won’t be fixed immediately either.
Each tragedy we see is one too many.
