GETAWAY — Two events are planned for the public at Collins Career and Technical Center’s main campus.

A hog roast will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday to mark the Lawrence County bicentennial, Michael Gleichauf, Collins program assistant, said.

The following Thursday, Sept. 22, a chili cook-off will take place at 11:30 a.m. High school and adult education students, along with faculty, will prepare the chili.

There is no cost for either event.
