Scott Gee

Feb. 27, 1969 — Sept. 25, 2016

Scott Gee, 47, of Ironton, passed away, Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Ironton native was born Feb. 27, 1969, a son of John and Rita Hardy Gee of Ironton. He is also survived by his wife of 25 years, Jamie Lyons Gee, whom he married June 8, 1991.
Mr. Gee was a 1987 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a former district sales manager for the Ashland Daily Independent. He was involved in weightlifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding and wrestled with a small independent called OCW, where he was known as “Scott Powers.”
He had a tryout with the WWE and the TNA, received a dark match with the TNA and was a World Champion in powerlifting and bodybuilding. He loved his family and was so proud of his boys. He was his wife’s best friend and the rock that held the family together. He was also of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Isom S. and Dorothy A. Hardy; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mable Gee; and his mamaw-in-law, Violet Lyons.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two sons, Cody Mason Gee and Parker Scott Gee, both of Ironton; a sister, Sherri Ann Pack, of Ironton; a niece, Shelby Rui Pack, of Ironton; and a half brother, Donald Gee, of Ironton.

Robert J. Dever, Jr. (Bobby), 53, of Coal Grove, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. The Coal Grove native was born March 18, 1963, the son of Robert J. Dever, Sr. and Leota Rose Campbell (David), both of Ironton.
Bobby was a 1982 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. He worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Ashland, Kentucky, until he retired in September 2013 after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8850 in Ironton, where he also served as a member of the Honor Guard. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Coal Grove.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 29 years, Juanita Jane Bryant Dever, along with two sons, Jared Lee Dever and Michael Brandon Webb (Sarah), both of Ironton, Ohio; a sister, Teresa A. Marshall; and a nephew, Nathan Marshall, of Kitts Hill; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Kay Dillon and Teresa A. Hammond, both of Ironton; three nieces, Ashley Dillon, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Hannah and Taylor Hammond, of Ironton; and a special nephew, Steven R. Mays, of Deering; and in-laws, Gary and Anita Bryant,, of Deering.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with The Rev. Lamar O’Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Williams, Jeff Lawless, Bill Rowe, Eddie Whitt, Darren Hankins, and Keith Patterson.
