WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Western Carolina’s singles player Madison Riley had the single best performance.
The Catamounts’ freshman from South Point went 2-1 at the Wake Forest Invitational during the three-day tournament last weekend.
Riley competed in the “D” singles flight and dropped her opening match to a competitor from Richmond before posting back-to-back wins in the back draw of the three-day tournament.
Riley’s first wins was over Isabel Balsavage of Navy in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
She then battled past freshman Danika Kahatapitiya from Navy, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.
