PEDRO — It seems that “7” is the St. Joseph Flyers lucky number against the Rock Hill Redmen.
The Flyers beat the Redmen 7-0 earlier this week and followed that with a 7-1 win on Thursday in a soccer game.
“We did what we need to do in this game. The younger players got some good experience tonight and the older players should be good and rested for Saturday,” said Flyers’ coach Mike Balestra.
St. Joseph (10-2-1) was led by Peyton Adkins with two goals while Isaac Whaley, Blake Balestra, Zac McGraw, Zach Roach and Tre Neal all scored one goal.
Victor Aguilera had the Rock Hill goal.
Neal, McGraw, Balestra and Whaley each had an assist while goalkeeper Bradley Rist totaled eight saves.
Logan Reed had 11 saves for the Redmen.
The Flyers finished with 32 shots on goal, six corner kicks, one fouls and three offside penalties. Rock Hill had 10 shots, one corner kick and three fouls.
The Flyers host Adena for Senior Day at 2 p.m. on Saturday. They end the season next Thursday at Northwest in a 6 p.m. game.
