Thelma Stamper

Feb. 23, 1938 — Oct. 24, 2016

Thelma R. Stamper, 78, of West Union, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at the Adams County Manor in West Union. The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 23, 1938, a daughter of the late Cecil and Carrie Lemaster Stamper.
She was a nurse’s aide for the Lawrence County General Hospital, retiring after 27 years of service and was a member of the Royersville Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Grace Stamper.
She is survived by a brother, Jerry Stamper, of Jr. Furnace; and two sisters, Faye (Ralph) Tyo, of Ironton, and Linda (Steve) Daniels, of West Union.
Private Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Ralph Tyo officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

James Adkins II

James Paris Adkins, II, 24, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted noon Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Florence Wells Blevins, 94, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
