Defendants arraigned in common pleas court

Defendants answered charges to a variety of crimes Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Tia Monday, 23, of 2276 Route 75, Kenova, West Virginia, was arraigned on a fifth-degree count of possession of drugs, to which she pleaded not guilty. Retired Judge Richard Walton set bond at $10,000 own-recognizance and GPS monitoring. A pretrial was set for Nov. 16.

Danny Sellards, 34, of 84 Township Road 1337, South Point, was arraigned on a fifth-degree and a misdemeanor count of criminal non-support, to which he pleaded not guilty. Walton set bond at $10,000 OR and set a pretrial for Nov. 9.

David Marshall, 37, of 1495 Damron Branch Road, Grayson, Kentucky, was arraigned on a fourth-degree count of theft from a protected class, to which he pleaded not guilty. Judge Charles Cooper set bond at $5,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set for Nov. 16.

Stephen Siders, 28, of 1173 County Road 1 Lot 24, South Point, was arraigned on third-degree failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, third-degree tampering with evidence, fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, fifth-degree possession of drugs and misdemeanor endangering children, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Nov. 16.

Evin McConnell, 19, of 416 Walnut St., Ironton, was arraigned on counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and second-degree felonious assault, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $100,000 cash or surety and a pretrial was set for Nov. 16.

Anthony Workman, 39, of 48 Private Drive 286 Township Road 85 E., Ironton, was arraigned on counts of second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand theft and fifth-degree breaking and entering, to which he pleaded not guilty. Cooper set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and set a pretrial for Nov. 16.

Lewis Lambert, 43, of 236 County Road 3, Proctorville, was sentenced to six months in prison. He previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug abuse instruments and resisting arrest.

Marci Peters, 39, of 1314 S. Eighth St., Ironton, was sentenced to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation, STAR and 200 hours community service. She previously pleaded guilty to three fourth-degree counts of complicity to trafficking in heroin.

Betty Dement, 47, of 1312 Fifth Ave., Huntington, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Michael Sizemore, 28, of 2029 S. Second St., Ironton, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
