Speaker to be Candy Finnigan from A&E’ series ‘Intervention’
HUNTINGTON — In the Tri-State, we are family.
With alcohol and substance abuse struggles plaguing the area and our nation, Recovery Point of West Virginia hopes to shed light on important issues and solutions at its annual fundraiser.
Recovery Point of West Virginia and the St. Mary’s Foundation will host the sixth-annual Embrace Hope 2016: “We Are Family” event on Friday, Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington.
The event will feature keynote speaker, Candy Finnigan. Finnigan, know as “The Face of Recovery,” is a nationally-recognized addiction specialist, interventionist, speaker and author of When Enough is Enough. She was one of the featured interventionists on the Emmy-Award-winning A&E series, “Intervention,” for all 13 seasons.
“We selected Candy Finnigan for this event because of her experience assisting families struggling with addiction. The Embrace Hope committee saw her as the best choice to emphasize our shift to also serve women at our Charleston facility and for her notoriety on this issue,” stated Matt Boggs, executive director of Recovery Point West Virginia.
Limited event individual tickets, which include dinner service, are still available for $150. VIP tickets are $200 and include a meet-and-greet with Finnigan prior to the main event. A very limited number of sponsorships are also still available. To purchase tickets, visit recoverypointwv.org.
Recovery Point provides substance use disorder recovery services to individuals across West Virginia at no cost to the client.
“Our organization relies on the support of the community to continue to offer our life-saving recovery programs at no cost. We receive some grant funding to fight this public health crisis, but we count on raising private funds through this event annually to support our clients,” said Lara Lawson, Director of Development.
