Martha Willis

June 12, 1935 — Dec. 3, 2016

Martha L. Willis, 81, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born June 12, 1935, a daughter of the late Harrison Martin and Ruth Bowman Martin.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Willis, whom she married June 13, 1953.
Martha attended Ironton High School and was a longtime member of the 10th Street/First Tabernacle Church in Ironton. She was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother, but was also a former nursing assistant at Bayside Nursing Home in Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Austin Thompson, Joseph Thompson II and Kyzr Willis; five brothers, Jess, Carl, Willard, Marshall, and Ralph Martin; and five sisters, Roberta Laber, Mary Morgan, Edith Lunsford, Arlene Crance and Catherine Wikoff.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Paul (Marilyn) Willis Jr., of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Ralph Willis, of Oakland, Maine, Donna (Roger) Thompson, of Ironton, Linda (Timothy) Bishop, of Wareham, Massachusetts, Gary (Laura) Willis, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Debbie (Vincent) Hasenauer, of Ironton; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Helen Willis, of Baton Rouge, Lousiana; and one brother, John Martin, of Sparrow Bush, New York.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Aaron Fields officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Laura Nichole Reynolds, 32, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, from complications of acute asthma.
Funeral service will be conducted noon Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with pastor Brian Cardwell officiating. Private family burial will take place at Burke Cemetery, Wayne, West Virginia. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the funeral home. David Lester

David F. Lester, 77, of Easley, South Carolina, formerly of Chesapeake, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at home. He is survived by his wife, Judy.

Earl “Richard” Brammer, 69, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Milleson Brammer.
