Orlyn Hall

Oct. 12, 1924 — Dec. 11, 2016

Orlyn Lowell Hall, 92, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at a local health care center. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 12, 1924, a son of the late Herbert and Bessie Hopkins Hall. Mr. Hall was preceded in death on Sept. 28, 2016, by his wife of 72 years, Kathleen Hobstetter Hall, whom he was married July 26, 1944.
Mr. Hall was a 1943 graduate of Kitts Hill High School and formerly attended Linnville Baptist Church. Mr. Hall was a retired steel mill worker, who had 32 years of service with AK Steel before retiring in 1976. After retirement, Lowell returned home to Lawrence County to help take care of the family farms. Mr. Hall was a United States Army veteran, who proudly served during World War II.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Darline Corn and Lorine Webb; and a special uncle, Emerson Hall.
He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn K. (Gary) Martin, of Kissimmee, Florida; granddaughter, Lorinda Lyn (Jason) Givens, of Junction City; great-grandson, Trey Charles Givens, of Junction City; and very special friends, John Scott, of Willow Wood, and Rob and Vicki Bellotte.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Sammy Cooke and pastor Rob Bellotte officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky, with military services provided by the Ironton V.F.W. Post 8850. The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Gerald Dalton Sr.

Gerald Dean Dalton, Sr., 70, of South Point, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Alida Mae Jackson Dalton.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 150 Wood Lane, Huntington, West Virginia, with Denver Majher officiating. Phillip Russel Carter, 78, of Ironton, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center Ironton Campus.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Tired Stone Baptist Church, 615 Depot Square, Ironton, with his brother, the Rev. Richard Carter officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites being surrendered in his honor by the Kenova American Legion and the Air Force Burial Detail of Wright Pat.

Anna Craycraft

May 22, 1946 — Dec. 2, 2016

Anna Maria Craycraft, 70, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Urgent Care Center, Portsmouth, after a brief illness. She was born in Altus, Oklahoma, on May 22, 1946, a daughter of the late Ada Mealor Ristow and the late Harvey Ristow. Anna was a loving mommy, grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Skip Ristow; and a sister, Patricia Robinson.
She is survived by three sons, Ray Anthony Craycraft and his wife, Jill, Mike Craycraft and his wife, Nanette, Matthew Craycraft and his wife, Darlene (Peanut); four daughters, Luemma Craycraft Hunt and her husband, Craig, Wendy Craycraft Boggs and her husband, Skip, Kylea Craycraft Taylor and her husband, Cameron; 18 grandchildren; the father of her children, Rayburn Craycraft; many great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brother Rick Osbourne and Phil Nyderek officiating.
Graveside rites will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in the Mullens-Osborne Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky.
Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. The family has entrusted her care to Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton.

Mary Deeds

Mary Elaine Payne Deeds, 67, of Ironton, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Doug Deeds.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with minister Mark Aites officiating. Burial will follow in Community Missionary Baptist Church in Deering. Frank Griffith

Frank Griffith, 78, of Ironton, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Anne Jefferys Griffith. Keeping with Frank’s wishes, he will be cremated. The family has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton.

Reginia Willis, 72, of Greenup, Kentucky, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
