PROCTORVILLE — Proctorville’s village council has a new president.
Council member Wes Shephard will follow longtime President Dale Burcham in the position, following Thursday’s meeting.
Shephard was nominated for the position and seconded, then confirmed by a vote at the meeting.
Mayor Richard Dunfee said the Council named J.T. Holt as village solicitor.
The village’s previous solicitor, Andrew Ballard, vacated the position after being elected as Lawrence County common pleas judge in November.
Dunfee said the rest of the meeting was devoted to normal first of the year business, such as setting meeting times.
The council will meet on the third Thursday of every month.
