CHESAPEAKE — Dominique Dominated.
Dominique Murphy scored a game-high 21 points thanks to five 3-point goals as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 58-37 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Natalee Hall scored 19 points and Brooke Webb added 11 points for Chesapeake (11-5, 6-4).
Maddie Scott scored 15 points and Abbi Kline hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points for the Redwomen (6-10, 2-7) who played without leading scorer and rebounder Anna Darby who was injured late in Wednesday’s game at Ironton St. Joseph.
Murphy came out firing with three 3-pointers as she scored 11 points in the first quarter. Hall added five points as Chesapeake took an 18-6 lead.
Murphy hit another triple and added two foul shots in the second quarter and Webb scored four points as the Lady Panthers went up 31-18 at the half.
Scott scored seven points and Lucy Simpson scored all five of her points for Rock Hill.
Hall took over in the third quarter and scored eight points while Murphy got her final trifecta. Kline hit both her 3-pointers, Scott had four points and Jill Hairston drained a 3-pointer as each team scored 13 points in the quarter.
Chesapeake was 6-of-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as Hall and Webb each went 3-of-4 from the line and scored five points apiece.
Rock Hill went cold and managed just three field goals in the quarter.
On Monday, Rock Hill hosts Ironton while Chesapeake visits Portsmouth.
