A community tradition

The slogan says it all, “It’s community…It’s tradition”.

And this Saturday, the tradition continues with the Ironton Rotary Club’s annual pancake breakfast.

For generations, the civic organization has been serving pancakes, with its secret recipe, and sausage to the Tri-State community the Saturday before Valentine’s Day each year.

While all-you-can-eat flapjacks and sausage are sure to brighten your morning, knowing that you are giving back and helping your community will bring a smile to your face.

You can choose to attend by purchasing a $5 ticket from a Rotary Club member or at the door. That, along with the sale of roses, funds the ability to pay for a variety of community projects that include annual nursing scholarships, maintaining the Ironton Rotary Club fountain in downtown Ironton and donations to various organizations that will benefit the community.

The Ironton Rotary Club, like so many wonderful civic organizations, has a singular goal of being an active, positive partner for residents throughout the county.

We encourage everyone who can to attend Saturday morning from 7 a.m.-noon at the Knights of Columbus on Third Street in Ironton.

The pancake breakfast, like so many other events put on by civic organizations, takes a multitude of volunteers that includes the local Boy Scout troop to set up, cook, serve and clean.

We are all a part of the community, and hope that you also become a part of the tradition.
