KITTS HILL— The South Hills Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is planning on raising the spirits of needy families in the community by providing frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners through participating in the NWTF’s Turkey Hunters Care Program.

This past Saturday, volunteers from the South Hills Longbeards Chapter began selling gun raffle tickets (Glock, Pistol and Benelli Shotgun) to raise funds to purchase frozen, domestic turkeys to needy families this holiday season. Proceeds from the raffle ticket sales will be used to purchase the frozen turkeys. You can help out the cause by purchasing raffle tickets for a $5 donation each, or three tickets for $10.

Tickets are available from chapter committee members or by visiting CNS Guns in Ironton, Todd’s Sporting Goods in Proctorville, K-Hill Indoor Shooting Range in Kitts Hill or Gone Fishin’ in Hecla.

The turkeys purchased will be for Lawrence County residents only. Any local businesses that would be interested in helping out the local chapter by donating funds, partnering up for the program or for more information, contact chapter President Larry Pernestti at 740-534-9128 or 740-646-6907.
