PEDRO — It looks like Jill Hairston can hit, too.
Hairston pitched a three-hitter as the Rock Hill Redwomen beat the Fairland Lady Dragons 13-2 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday, but she also swung the bat pretty well.
Hairston went 3-4 with a double and two runs batted in as Rock Hill collected 10 hits.
Anna Darby also had a big game at the plate by going 2-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Gracie Stevens added a double and two RBI.
Rock Hill jumped in front 4-0 in the first inning.
Hairston singled, Stevens walked and Darby had a two-run double. With two outs, Rileigh Morris had an RBI double and later scored on an error.
Fairland got two runs in the top of the second but Rock Hill came back with five in the bottom of the inning to lead 9-2.
Baylie Harris walked, Hairston singled and Stevens unloaded a two-run triple. Darby doubled home Stevens and then scored on a hit by Tori Pancake. Morris reached on an error as Pancake scored.
The Redwomen put the game away with four runs in the fourth.
Madison Harper reached second base on an error and Taylor Hall also reached on an error as Harper scored.
With two outs, Kelsey Olderham was safe on an error, Harrah reached on a fielder’s choice and Hairston smacked a two-run double. Hairston then scored thanks to a pair of errors.
Rock Hill visits Wellston on Tuesday.
