Esther Cade

May 17, 1943 — April 10, 2017

Esther Jane Suttles Cade, 73, of Pedro, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
The Grayson, Kentucky native was born May 17, 1943, a daughter of the late Clark David and Mary Elizabeth Sanders Suttles. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Harold Ray Cade, who passed away July 3, 2016.
Mrs. Cade attended Rock Hill High School and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Janet Mae Sisler, Betty Suttles and Loretta Spillman; and two brothers, Donald Ray Suttles and Clark Elwood Suttles.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy (Bill) Waddle, of Ironton; two grandchildren, Billy Waddle and Brandon Waddle, both of Ironton; and a brother, William (Julie Ann) Suttles, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Kenneth Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Yvonne Rogers

Yvonne Elaine Welch Rogers, 77, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. The Ironton native was born Oct. 30, 1939, a daughter of the late Robert and Julia Kilgore Welch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce P. Rogers, who passed away Feb. 17, 2012.
Mrs. Rogers was a graduate of Ironton High School. She retired after 30 years of service from J.C. Penney and was a librarian with Briggs Library for 30 years. She was also an artist, enjoyed volunteering and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Roberta Williams, Golda Flemming and Jacquelyn Samuels; and a brother, Vernon Welch.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Erika and Kevin Weakley, of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Lillian Bryant, of Ironton; and a host of nieces, nephews, honorary kids and her library family.

Penny Jo Justice

Aug. 11, 1948 — April 9, 2017

Penny Jo Justice, 68, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky. Ms. Justice was born Aug. 11, 1948, in New London, Connecticut, a daughter to the late Eddie and Mary (Laurel) Warthman.
Ms. Justice was a graduate of Logan High School, and was a former home health nurse for Caring Hands. She loved to dance and was a member of several bowling leagues.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Tommy Justice; and brother, Mike Warthman.
She is survived by two daughters, Carla Justice and Diana Justice, both of Ironton; grandchildren, Kayla Justice and Clarence Rife, both of Ironton, and Adiva Conley, of Ashland, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Brandon Thibodaux and Andrew Reaper, both of Ironton; and 11 brothers.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Violet McNeely

Violet McNeely, 80, of Proctorville, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Cline McNeely.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Harold Hamlin. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
