With most jobs today requiring education beyond a standard high school diploma, it is fitting that two people in the county who have been working in the field of adult education have been honored for their efforts.
Steve Dodgion, the superintendent of Collins Career Technical Center, was recently presented with the William B. Ruth Award from PACE at a ceremony in Columbus.
Dodgion, who has worked at CCTC for more than 20 years, has made s significant contribution to educating the residents of Lawrence County.
Also honored at the ceremony was Kelly Adams, who works in the school’s financial aid department, with the Pam Decker memorial Award.
Adams has worked in her mission to make school affordable for more than 25 years and has been a leader in the department.
We congratulate Dodgion and Adams for their honors and commend their efforts to better prepare students for tomorrow’s workplace.
