Springer, who has hosted his colorful daytime talk show since 1991, was mayor of Cincinnati from 1977-1978. He has been rallying Ohio Democrats at several regional events in recent months.

Springer briefly flirted with another run for electoral office in the 2000s, but ultimately decided against it. In addition to his talk show, he has served as the host of America’s Got Talent for two seasons and hosted a political talk show, “Springer on the Radio,” on the liberal Air America network from 2005-2006. He has appeared as a political commentator on numerous cable programs.

Cost for the event is $200 for hosts, $100 for sponsors, $50 for supporters and $25 for attendees and RSVPs can be made to cmiller@ohiodems.org.
