COAL GROVE — Lauren Meyer isn’t perfect, except once in a while when she’s batting.
Meyer went 4-for-4 to lead a 13-hit attack as the Coal Grove Lady Hornets beat the South Point Lady Pointers 5-2 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
Besides her four hits and three RBI, Gracie Riley was 2-3 with a double and five RBI. Khylee Keaton went 2-3 and Lauren Crum 2-4.
Kasey Murphy pitched a four-hitter to get the win. She struck out seven, walked two and gave up only one earned run.
Holly Ramey took the loss as she struck out three and walked two.
Coal Grove took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Riley.
The Lady Pointers got a run in the top of the second but Riley had a two-run double in the second to put Coal Grove up for good at 3-1.
South Point got a run in the fifth but the Lady Hornets added two insurance runs in the sixth.
