Talk about ganging up on someone.

The St. Joseph Flyers used four pitchers who combined on a no-hitter as they blanked the Rose Hill Royals 14-0 in five innings on Tuesday.

Clay Willis worked the first two innings and Zac McGraw, Isaac Whaley and Peyton Adkins threw one inning each for the Flyers.

Willis struck out five, McGraw three and Adkins one. Willis walked a batter in the first inning but McGraw threw the runner out trying to steal.

“We did a lot of positive things. We played extremely well. We got to work on some things for the tournament,” said Flyers’ coach Greg Bryant.

“I was extremely pleased with all four pitchers. They threw the ball well.”

The Flyers jumped out quickly in the first inning with six runs.

Gage Butler singled, Isaac Whaley was safe on an error, Zac McGraw walked, Chase Walters had a two-run singled, Peyton Adkins singled for a run, Trey Ward walked and Chase Wilds knocked in two runs with a hit.

The Flyers added a run in the second when Whaley singled, stole second and came home on McGraw’s base hit.

The lead went to 11-0 in the third.

Clay Willis reached on a missed third strike, Butler sacrificed the runner, a wild pitch put Willis on third and Whaley squeezed him home.

McGraw singled, stole second and came home on a hit by Walters. Adkins doubled in Walters and Ward reached on an error for a run.

St. Joseph (4-8) got three more runs in the fourth.

Ethan Clark was hit by a pitch, Izsak Unger reached on an error and Butler had an RBI single. Whaley flied out as the runners moved up and McGraw grounded out to shortstop as two runs scored.

McGraw was 2-3 with three RBI, Walters 2-4 with three RBI, Butler 2-3 and Adkins 2-4 with a double and two RBI.

St. Joseph hosts Peebles at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Division IV sectional tournament.
