Charles Shepherd

Charles Shepherd, 69, of Willow Wood, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 28, 1947, the son of the late James Thomas Shepherd and Vena Lois Miller Shepherd. He is survived by his wife, Richa Faye Malone Shepherd, whom he married on June 3, 1977.
Charles was a graduate of Symmes Valley High School and a former machinist for Ironton Iron and Industrial Machine & Fabrications, where he retired in 2007 after 40 years of service. He attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Chesapeake, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #532 in Waterloo. He enjoyed working in his garden and loved spending time with family and  volunteering at his church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son:, Charlie Shepherd, of Willow Wood; two daughters, Samantha (Justin) Taylor and Ashley (John) Whitt, both of Willow Wood; grandson, London Taylor, of Willow Wood; and three brothers, James “Tuck” (Virginia) Shepherd, Leeman “Dave” (Thelma) Shepherd, and Russell (Carolyn) Shepherd, all of Willow Wood
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday at Hatfield Cemetery with Father Charles Moran officiating.
There will be no public visitation and Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Billy Joe Watts, 78, of Proctorville, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Doris Watts.

Michael Hampton

Michael Hampton, 45, of Ironton, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at his residence.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Life Worship Center in Ironton, with pastor Todd Munson officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.

Bessie Fields

Bessie Marie Burchwell Fields, 85, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, with her nephew, Robbie Jordan and pastor Lloyd L. Bailey officiating.
