Gold Plus status earned

In all likelihood, we have a family member, or at the very least know someone, who has had a heart attack.
The “golden hour,” as it is known in medicine, is the most important time period for patient care after an incident occurs, and this is especially true for those who experience a heart attack. Emergency medical services, in many cases, are typically the first to see an injured person during that period, providing care until the patient reaches the medical facility.
And we have a gold standard for those services right here at home with the Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services, who recently received a distinction from the American Heart Association Mission:Lifeline Gold Plus status. This means that our Lawrence County EMS is in the top one percent of emergency medical services in America for treatment of ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). To earn this merit, the EMS service has to go beyond the requirements for care of these instances.
We applaud the work of those who serve our county in emergency medical services for their hard work and dedication to the residents of Lawrence County.
We never know what, or when, emergency services are needed, but having those professionals right here at home to take care of us should certainly put our minds at ease.
