Brinkley Barlow

Sept. 4, 1949 — June 5, 2017

Brinkley Randall Barlow, 67, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at his residence. The Ironton native was born Sept. 4, 1949, the son of the late William Barlow and Billie Bruce Barlow, of Ironton.
Mr. Barlow was a graduate of Ironton High School and attended Business School in Ashland, Kentucky. He retired as a chief petty officer, after serving 20 years on submarines in the United States Navy and also retired after 20 years in the Medical Records Department at the Veteran’s Affairs Office in West Palm Beach, Florida. He attended Christ Episcopal Church in Ironton.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Barlow.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Alison Rudicel, of Scott AFB, Illinois, and Heather Mihalko, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and grandchildren, Emily Rudicel, of Scott AFB, Illinois, and Johnny Mihalko and Elaina Cash, both of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Sallie Schisler officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Wayne Harmon

Nov. 24, 1940 — June 8, 2017

Wayne Harmon, 76, of Ironton, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Ashland Community Hospice. He was born Nov. 24, 1940, to the late William and Georgie Large Harmon. He was the husband of Carol King Harmon. He was retired after 35 years at the Ironton Intermet as an iron pourer. He was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Ironton.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Harmon, of Cincinnati, and Kim and Tony Addis, of Ironton; grandchildren, Cody Baker and Owen Wayne Conway, both of Cincinnati, Josh Addis, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Kyle and Thu Addis, of Cyprus, Texas; and one great-grandchild, Lucy Kim Addis.
He was preceded in death by Curt Harmon, Leslie Harmon and David Harmon.
He is also survived by sisters, Sandra Moore, Connie Hanshaw, Ruth Gillenwater and Betty Hankins; and brothers, William Harmon and Ralph Harmon.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, Ironton. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ashland Community Hospice, St. Lawrence Church or a charity of your choice.

Charles Salyers

Charles Edward “Eddie” Salyers, 68, of Ironton, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Memorial service will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section Woodland Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the V.F.W. Post #8850. Gerald Freeman

Gerald Francis Freeman, 66, of Lilburn, Georgia, formerly of South Point, died Monday, June 5, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Jane Craddock Freeman. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake.

 

John Fraley

Feb. 20, 1943 — June 8, 2017

John Logan Fraley, 73, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at his residence. The Ashland, Kentucky native was born Feb. 20, 1943, a son of the late Lon and Bea Anderson Fraley. He was also preceded by his wife, Judy Artis Fraley, who passed away Nov.19, 2007.
Mr. Fraley attended Ironton High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a former coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Marvich; and two brothers, Roger Fraley and Steve Fraley.
He is survived by three daughters, Mariann Rogers, Cathy (Bill) Jackson, and Jodi (Jim) Dyer, all of Ironton; two sons, John (Robyn) Fraley and Jimmy (Toni) Fraley, both of Jacksonville, Florida; seven grandchildren, Julie Rogers, Kiley Brown, Drew Brown, Josh Dyer, Logan Fraley, Eric Fraley and Allison Marvich; two great-grandchildren, Harper Fraley and Ethan Fraley; two brothers:, Lonnie (Betty) Fraley and Max (Kathy) Fraley; and a sister, Becky (Jeff) Dillow.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church, Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery and visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton.
