Walter Morrison
WW2 veteran, Walter Jackson (Mike) Morrison, died at the VA Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, from complications of cancer.
Mike fought a long battle with cancer and peace came to him at 2 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Mike was the fourth of 14 children born to Hattie Spurlock Morrison and Ziegler Behrend Morrison, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding Mike in death were seven brothers, Z.B. Morrison II, Charles Frederick Morrison, Robert Howard Morrison , Jacob Isaac Morrison, John Tyler Morrison, Ronald George Garwood and Billie Ray Morrison (Donna); and four sisters, Harriette Louise Morrison Castillini, Earnestine (Teeny) Morrison, Lucille Reseda Morrison Hankins and Beatrice Morrison Rodee.
Mike is survived by four sisters; his loving wife, Dorothy; and two sons, Ricky Lee and Phillip, of South Point.
By his wishes, Mike will be cremated and his ashes will rest at his gravesite at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
Virginia Earl
Virginia Jenny Earl, 87, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Wyngate at RiversEdge, Proctorville. She is survived by her husband, Earnest H. Earl. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Robert Sammons
Robert “Bob” Douglas Sammons, 87, of Flatwoods, Kentucky died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Kentucky. A memorial service will be noon Friday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup, Kentucky, with pastor Mike Sargent officiating. Barbara Campbell
Barbara Jones Campbell, 46, of Pedro, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Gregory Campbell. There will be a celebration of Barbara’s life at 2 p.m. Saturday at Slab Fork United Methodist Church with pastor Brian Phillips officiating.
Roger Erwin
Roger Erwin, 67, of Pataskala, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at home. He is survived by his wife, Louelle Erwin. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
