SOUTH POINT — With the Fourth of July approaching, it is time for South Point’s annual Party in the Park event.

The festivities, set for Saturday at the South Point Community Park, will take place throughout the day.

Live music will begin at 11:30 a.m., with headliner Shane Runion taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. and fireworks planned for at 10:15 p.m.

A Patriotic Pizza 5K will take place at the riverfront picnic shelter at 8 a.m. and a kids fun run is set for 7:30 a.m.

A car and motorcycle show is planned from noon-3 p.m. and a cornhole tournament is set for 2 p.m.

A Barker Shop patriotic dog show is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. and the Snak Shak hot dog eating contest will take place at 1:45 p.m.

Other activities will include food, crafts, inflatables and games.
