Two more days left for fair

ROME TOWNSHIP — If you have not had the chance to visit the Lawrence County Fair yet this year, you still have to more days to do so.
In addition to the rides, which open at 4 p.m. each day, there are several events scheduled for today and Saturday.
Today, the Master Exhibitor contest, in which 4-H members demonstrate their showmanship skills of various animal breeds begins at 10 a.m., while the Nutrition Bowl is set for noon at the 4-H shelter.
The Cloverbud interviews and carnival are planned for 2 p.m. at the shelter, while Jr. Fair outhouse races are scheduled for 4 p.m.
A hog calling contest will take place at 6 p.m. at the 4-H shelter, while the rodeo is set for 7 p.m. at the grandstand.
The fair winds down on Saturday, with the 4-H and FFA large market animal sale planned for 10 a.m., followed by the small animal sale at 2 p.m.
An open horse pulling contest is set for 10 a.m. at the grandstand, followed by mini-bike races at 1 p.m.
A power wheel derby will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the grandstand, followed by a lawn mower derby at 5 p.m. and a Derby Blowout/River$ide Riot at 6 p.m.
