4-H members awarded for their work with sales

“Happy.”

That’s the word market chicken reserve champion Connor Franklin used to describe how he felt about the auction results for his bird, and, based on the smiles, it could probably be applied to most of the kids involved in the Lawrence County fair small animal auction on Saturday.

Franklin, with the Scottown Farmers and Farmerettes 4-H club, earned $2,000 for his bird, while grand champion Lailah Holbrook, also with the Scottown Farmers and Farmerettes, earned $3,000 for her grand prizewinner.

Holt, auditor Jason Stephens, clerk of courts Mike Patterson, Larry Kirkpatrick, with the Lawrence County Agricultural Society and fair board, and attorney Randy Lambert, for $2,600.
