Many made ice cream festival a success

On behalf of all of the congregation at Chesapeake United Methodist Church, I wish to offer a heartfelt “Thank You” to all of the community partners who joined together with us to help make our 13th Annual Ice Cream Festival Street Party a wonderful success.
Our mission each year in this street party is offering free summer fun along with a free meal, including our very own homemade ice cream.
Particularly, I want to thank Kenova Baptist Church for furnishing inflatable attractions and the ThunderTones Chorus of Huntington for sharing their amazing gifts of harmony.
Our door prize donors this year were: Beyond Beauty Salon and Spa, Chesapeake Community Center, Dairy Bell, Dollar General, The Flower Shop, Maxine’s Closet Thrift Shop, Monty’s Pizza, Tri State Filter, Tri State Variety, Wal-Mart and Watts N’ Here.
I wish to also thank Save-A-Lot for donating prizes for the kid’s games, Matt Fulks for the street platform, Akers Paving for the street cones, and the Chesapeake Community Center for the sound system. With so many generous partners, the party couldn’t help being a success.
And, of course, I want to thank each and every neighbor who came out on a muggy July evening for good food and fellowship. We couldn’t count it a success without you!
