NASHVILLE — Ironton native and Country Music Hall of Fame member Bobby Bare shared his thoughts on fellow musician Glen Campbell, who died Tuesday at age 81 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

“We’re gonna miss Glen,” Bare said in a statement. “He was a friend of mine for way over 50 years. He was my neighbor in L.A. before we both moved to Nashville and we hung out together a lot — back in the early ’60s. It’s a rough day.”

Campbell, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011, released more than 70 albums over his lifetime, scoring 29 top 10 hits and was also member of the hall of fame.
