As part of ongoing construction for the new Ironton-Russell Bridge, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will complete finishing work, requiring closure of the structure.
Crews from Brayman Construction Corporation will close the bridge for up to 36 hours to complete remaining deck work and sign installation as part of the total construction project for the bridge.
The closure is necessary in order to facilitate the application of materials for decking, as well as to accommodate the equipment used for sign installation on the south Kentucky tower.
The 36-hour closure will go into effect at midnight tonight and continue until noon Saturday.
While the bridge is closed, motorists will be detoured via the Ashland’s wtwin bridges and U.S. 52 at Coal Grove.
