PORTSMOUTH — The only question in this golf match was who would be the medalist: Coal Grove’s Trevor Deere or Portsmouth’s William Sturgill.
Well, Coal Grove not only won the dual match but Deere also answered the question of who would win medalist honors at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club course on Thursday.
Deere shot a 37 to finish two shots ahead of Sturgill and the Hornets posted a 170 to 198 win over the Trojans.
Garrett Holiday had a 42, Jed Whitworth 44, Alex Gillette and Jake Sites a 47 each and Ethan Wilson 49 for the Hornets.
Katy Pertuset shot a 48, Aiden Donges 56 and Workman 55 to complete Portsmouth’s team scores.
