Portsmouth — Shawnee State men’s and women’s basketball will host their annual Bear Madness on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
Bear Madness will take place at Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium on the campus of Shawnee State University.
The night will feature three-point and dunk contests, games and prizes as the Bears are introduced leading up to the beginning of the 2017-18 season.
The public is invited and there is no admission charge.
Former Coal Grove Hornets’ All-Ohio standout Conor Markins is a member of the men’s team and St. Joseph Female Flyers’ All-Ohio selection Hannah Miller plays for the women’s team.
Shawnee State’s 2017-18 season gets underway on Friday, Oct. 27, when the SSU women host Kentucky Christian for their home opener at 6 p.m.
Shawnee State’s men will tip off the season on Sunday, Oct. 29. when they host William Penn at 1 p.m.
